Model United Nations Team Shines at 7th Annual Miami Model UN Conference

This past weekend, 24 Upper School students and two faculty members traveled to Cutler Bay, Florida, to participate in The 7th Annual Miami Model United Nations Conference. Hosted by and held at Palmer Trinity School, MIAMUN VII consisted of over 200 student delegates from Saint Andrew’s, Westminster Christian, Ransom Everglades, and Palmer Trinity. Participants explored various world issues and devised solutions through discussion, negotiation, and debate. 

Students simulated roles as these delegates on the General Assembly, Security Council, Human Rights Council, Environmental Committee, and Joint Crisis Committee. The Saint Andrew’s Model UN Team was assigned various delegations and represented France, Guyana, Malta, Bangladesh, Sunda, USA, Brazil, UK, France, Portugal, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland. Others represented political figures in the 1973 Peace Accords concerning Vietnam, including the US Secretary of Defense, Chinese Foreign Minister,  General of the North Vietnamese Army, North Vietnamese Foreign Diplomat, and the South Vietnam Prime Minister.

In addition to the delegates’ roles, SA MUN Team Members Quinn Morse ’26, Maisie Liu ’25, and Sasha Zimet ’24 served in the prestigious roles of Committee Chairs. Congratulations to Blake Kornhaber ’26, Naomi Williams ’25, and Olivia Peskin ’26, who won individual awards as Top Delegates. For many Saint Andrew’s Model UN team members, this was their first in-person MUN Conference. Congratulations to all Saint Andrew’s MUN MIAMUN participants.
