LS Parent-Teacher Conferences

LS Parent-Teacher Conferences

Friday, March 1, we will host our parent-teacher conferences, in person or virtual, to give everyone the best opportunity to participate. Some homeroom classes will also offer a few alternative times after dismissal on Wednesday, February 28. This information will be communicated directly from the teachers. The appointments will be offered from 8:00 am to 3:40 pm on the designated conference day. A key ingredient for educational achievement is the home-school partnership. Parent-teacher conferences are one way to strengthen that relationship in our school community. Please contact your teachers directly if you need a conference slot outside of Friday.

What to expect?

Teachers prepare information about your child for a 15-minute conference that includes their academic, social, and emotional strengths and challenges as students in their class. Be on the lookout for a push page with the links to sign up for a conference appointment slot.

What can you do?

The parent-teacher conference is an interactive experience, so your input, questions, and comments are invited and welcome. The following information should be considered:

  1. What does your child discuss at home about their day and their interactions that may be helpful or informative for the teachers to know? What are your hopes and expectations for your child?

  2. Is there pertinent information about your child and their life at home that the teacher should be aware of? What are your concerns or fears?

  3. If there is information about your child not discussed by the teachers, then follow up with the teachers.

When teachers and parents work together, we can help a child have a rewarding, enriching, and productive school year. You are encouraged to engage in a frank conversation with your child’s teachers. The goal of parent-teacher conferences here at Saint Andrew’s School is to ensure we meet your child’s needs for a positive year of growth and learning. Since time is limited to twenty minutes, we encourage parents to schedule a separate conference if concerns are not addressed in the allotted time.
